Kroke-Kroke-Kroke

Kroke is a Polish trio formed in 1992 in Kraków by three lifelong friends and graduates of the Academy of Music in Kraków, Tomasz Lato plays double bass, Tomasz Kukurba plays viola, and Jerzy Bawoł plays accordion.

Though known primarily as a klezmer band, Kroke create and play original compositions that employ authentic ornamentation, with modes and scales from both Klezmer and Sephardic music, resulting in a sound both contemporary and Jewish.
The trio has collaborated with many artists, for instance violinist Nigel Kennedy, with whom they made the album East Meets East. In 2003, the band became a quartet when percussionist Tomasz Grochot joined, hence the album name Quartet.
One of their songs, "The Secret of the Life Tree", features on the soundtrack of David Lynch's 2006 film Inland Empire.
The concert were on Thurday,20.00 in Alchemia pub, in krakow , the tickets coasted 30 zł.
I heared them one time on the summer festival in the market square, I liked the way they played & enjoy the music.
Their music sometime sound jazzy,at times contemporary, at times classical, but what you will notice at once that their music is passionate.
They played direct for 2 hours, nonstop, they played nicely together,
unfortunately I didn't have camera with me,therefore no photos or videos from this concert but I've put them on my play list.
it was nice time. nice music.
