Law abiding citizen

well this film I've watched yesterday, wanda did pick up that movie,I've agreed as i'm fond of Gerard Butler, but I didn't like the movie, its full of blood and revenge, and the end of the film wan't what I've expected,
what was very funny that film were our choice and half of it we were closing our eyes or jumping from the room, and my husband was laughing on us, and asked why we did pick it up?
actually I didn't know, only I'm fan of Gerard Butler and I liked him in ugly truth & p.s I Love you.
So In Summary The plot focuses on a man who, ten years after his wife and daughter are brutally murdered, returns to extract justice from the assistant district attorney who prosecuted the case against their killers. His vengeance threatens not only the man who allowed mercy to supersede justice, but also the system and the city
Main Actors : Gerard Butler; Jamie Foxx;
Law Abiding Citizen, directed by F Gary Gray and written by Kurt Wimmer,
well if you still didn't watch the movie & still want to watched don't read the rest, Im burning it down!!!!!!!
The opening scene with two leering psychopaths storming into the suburban home of a married couple. The first thing they do to the husband is to strike him across the head with a baseball bat. They slam the wife against a wall and start to molest her. Upon seeing the couple’s young daughter, they cackle a bit. Then they kill her.
you may or may not be delighted to learn, is only a teaser for the violence, bloodletting and body-mutilation that ensues. Gerard Butler plays Clyde Shelton, an upstanding Philadelphian whose life is wrecked after the death of his loved ones. His only consolation is that the murderers have been caught and, he presumes, will soon be executed. Even the local prosecutor, cocky and flashily neck-tied Nick Rice (Jamie Foxx), boasts: “Helen Keller could try this case.” His confidence is premature. The evidence doesn’t wholly stack up.
Rice is both a pragmatist and keen to maintain his high conviction rate. He cuts a deal with one of the men, Darby, who testifies against his fellow butcher. It’s success of a sort. Shelton though is insensible with rage. He can’t tolerate compromise. He wants vengeance.
Ten years pass. Shelton, it turns out, has gone quietly postal. In order to make the final waking minutes of one of the murderers as painful as possible, he contrives to replace potassium with bromide so that the inmate is frazzled for what seems an eternity. Then he sets his sights on Darby, paralyzing him, and whisking him off to a warehouse where he applies a series of hacksaws and bolt-cutters to slice and dice him into 25 segments.
Even when he’s arrested, he doesn’t let up. He may be confined to a cell, but he seems to have a supernatural ability to orchestrate horrific mayhem on everyone implicated in the failure to prosecute his family’s murderers. He buries a man alive, kills a judge by detonating her mobile phone, plants a series of bombs in a car park, and uses a weaponised bomb-disposal robot to cause a graveyard massacre.
It can be only a matter of time until he wipes out Rice, whose daughter he has already terrified by sending her a DVD showing him disemboweling and tenderizing Darby.
Law Abiding Citizen is an extraordinary film. Extraordinary in that it appears to have been gutted of any semblance of drama & violence, without any sense or originality.
At the end of the film you won't believe how Shelton manages to commit his crimes; suffice to say, he planned for 10 years to enter to prison so he buys a garage near prison, digs tunnels to Individual cell, where he was put inside of it later after he has killed his roommate in prison, o he can getout & enter without no body knows. and all the way the prosecuter thinks somebody is helping him from outside
Allow me to backtrack: does anyone seriously believe that a prosecutor as politically savvy as Rice is meant to be would allow himself to be photographed shaking hands with such a vile piece of work as Darby? This is meant to be the film’s fulcrum, the moment — and the injustice it represents — that triggers Shelton’s murderous instincts. If this doesn’t ring true, then nothing that happens afterwards can ring true.
But this is pure hypocrisy. He wants us to think of Shelton as a righteous figure, an embodiment of human decency in a world of cant and dishonour. Yet the man is clearly a psychopath. If we’re aroused by the mayhem he creates, it’s not because it’s in any way just; it’s because it involves bangs and ballistics.
The end of the film, Shelton dies in such dramatic way by his bomb that wanted to kill the mayer.
well as the idea of the film is that everyone must account for their actions and learn their lessons.
Fans of Gerard Butler will no doubt appreciate a shot of him standing naked as he waits for police officers to arrest him Which I didn't understand why he had to be naked or show his body. Everyone else will likely be incredulous at his ability here to turn in an even worse performance than he did in Gamer in my opinion, may be for guys they would like it, but for me its big failure.
