Orient Connection

The concert were on saturday 19.00 at concert Hall in krakow, Called Orient Connection, the entrance were for free , which a lot of nice concerts here are some time played for free, as they trying to let everybody enjoy the music, especially from different culture. here also in pubs, and normal cafe u can hear live music & nice concerts from jazz, blues, or whatever.
I went with Wanda who orginally told me about this concert so I went with my husband, and friends as this for us could be interesting, we like oriental music and our taste in music not pop
I think we grow up to taste the music :)) I hope so.

well the musicians were :

Iyad Haimour from syria, plays on ney, quanun, oud. he is quite good, I liked the way he plays he knows his music good & enjoys it. and it can be shown on him.
Firas Hassan from syria, plays percussion instruments.
Jacek fedkowicz from poland, plays bass.
Michał Gorzyca from poland, plays electronics
jan pilch from poland, plays percussion instruments
Tomasz pruchnicki from poland, plays axophones
Dominik wania from poland, play piano

The idea of the concert follows that a held meeting of musicians coming from different tradition and genres of percussion and traditional muic and representing distant cultures.
A general assumpyion common for all editions is that such a meeting happens only once, and as such remain unique.
The musical material is based on generally outlined themes or forms and the concert is created through interaction , intuition and group improvisation.
they tryied to connect traditonal music from syria performed by the two out standing musicians from syria Iyad & firas with jazz and electronic music.
well the two syrians musicians are great , i think they didn't play together before, but they were quite good, at begining the played alone and the music were traditonal oriental from syria, arabian music which i hoped to heard more .
but then the polish joined them and they dominated more to the jazz which was fine but the saxaphone was too much we hoped to hear more oriental especially I liked very much Iyad.
but this concert was a journey into the unknown as they would call it
well in my opinion it was a great musical venture with many surprising shifts and reversals.
& these are some parts how look like the concert which we recorded with our small camera.

This when they were playing together alone at the begining of the concert.

This when they were playing all together with the polish band.
